Madrid Card is incredibly easy to use...

Simply write your name and the date on which you first use it (the card is personal and non transferable), and you show it at the museum or participating establishments you are visiting.
Tickets are already taken care of ... the having fun part is left up to you!

Tourist Ticket

Write down your ID or passport number (pass is personal and non transferable), and insert it into one of the ticket stamping machines. Cardholders are only required to show their pass when boarding the bus.

Madrid tourist bus

You can catch the bus at any stop along the designated route. While the card is valid (1 or 2 days), you will be able to get on and off as many times as you want.

Madrid Card:

Activation

• The card is activated the first time it is used at a participating establishment, NOT when it is purchased.
• Once activated, the card can be used for the period of time stipulated on each particular type of card.

Validity

• The card is valid solely for consecutive periods of time.
• When the expiry date is reached, the card can no longer be used. If, for example, you begin to use your 24hour card on Monday at 1:45 p.m., it will be valid until the following day, Tuesday, at 1:45 p.m.

Museum and attractions with free entry

• Cardholders can visit the permanent collection at museums, monuments and other attractions a single time; please ensure that the day on which you wish to visit that they are not closed for some reason.
• Cardholders are advised to check opening times during the summer season (June 21 to September 21).
• Temporary exhibits are not always included as part of the free entry.
• All pertinent information can be found on the guide that is included when you purchase your card.

Discounts

• Take advantage of great discounts at participating establishments throughout your stay in the city, regardless of the duration of your card; for discounts, show the card before paying.
• Discounts are applicable regardless of the method of payment (cash or credit card), but cannot be used in conjunction with other offers.
• During the sales or when special discounts apply, the shop is under no obligation to apply any additional discounts.
• Cardholders are advised book a table at restaurants, especially at weekends and on the eve of public holidays. When ordering your bill, show your card and ask for the corresponding discount.

Horarios

• Temporada alta (Marzo a Octubre): 9 - 22 h. (*)
• Temporada baja ( Noviembre a Febrero): 10 - 18 h.
• (*) Del 16 de junio al 15 de Septiembre: Dos tours nocturnos en la ruta 1. Salida: Museo del Prado, a partir de las 22hs. Sin paradas.

Frecuencia de autobuses

• Temporada alta (Marzo a Octubre): Ruta 1 >8 minutos, Ruta 2 > 9 minutos.
• Temporada Baja (Noviembre a Febrero): Ruta 1 >14 minutos, Ruta 2 > 15 minutos.

Recorrido ampliado

• Ruta 1 :
  Todos los días.
  Salidas:10:05h. y 18:05h.
  Parada inicial: Museo del Prado.

• Ruta 2:
  Todos los días.
  Salidas:12:15h. y 16:05h.
  Parada inicial: Plaza de Neptuno.

Condiciones del servicio

• El servicio se prestará todos los días del año, excepto el día final de la Vuelta Ciclista a España..
• Por su seguridad, los pasajeros deberán permanecer sentados durante todo el recorrido.
• No se admiten animales a bordo.
• Los días que, por interrupción en el tráfico rodado, no sea posible la operación, se comunicará por medio de anuncios en las paradas.
• En caso de lluvia, el portador del billete podrá acceder a uno de los 21 asientos disponibles en la planta baja. Cuando se complete este aforo podrán viajar de pie, sin posibilidad de usar los auriculares individuales, un máximo de 10 personas.
• Existen hojas de reclamaciones a disposición de los viajeros.
• El mal tiempo o la alteración del servicio por manifestaciones, competiciones o eventos no darán derecho a la devolución del importe del billete.
• Conserva tu billete, te puede ser requerido en cualquier momento del recorrido por el personal de "MADRID CITY TOUR". Su extravío supone la pérdida del servicio.

Types of Passes and Zones

• There are five types of passes: valid for a period of 1, 2, 3, 5 or 7 days. Passes can only be used for the period of time specified on each type of travel pass. The pass is activated on the day it is first used. Once activated, the expiry date is printed onto the back of the Tourist Ticket. The pass will be valid on nocturnal services until 5 a.m. of the expire date.
• Tourist Ticketes are valid for either Zone A or Zone T. Zone A includes all routes within the designated Zone A area and roughly covers the area within the municipal boundaries. Zone T includes the whole public transport network both within the city and surrounding areas.

Use norms

• Use and Control. To access different modes of transport, the tcket must be inserted into an autmatic validator machine. When using the ticket for the first time, the expiry date will be printed on the back of the ticket. A Pass holder must carry a validated ticket at all times. As tickets are personal and non-transferable, the use of this ticket by an unautorized person is strictly forbidden. At the request of any authorized transport company inspectionstaff, passengers are obliged to show their tickets, in good state, along with their relevant documents to verify the identification number written on the ticket.
• Damaged tickets. In the case that a ticket is damaged and /or rejected by an automatic validator machine, it should be validated by sight. It must however still contain holder´s identification number and expiry date printed on it.
  
• Lost or stolen tickets. In the case of loss or theft of the ticket, it will be not replaced.
  
• Passenger insurance. Tourist Ticket holders will be covered by the general passenger insurance policy.
  
• Passenger out of legality. Authorized inspection staff could take away Tourist Ticket from a passenger whenever the above rules are not followed. In this case the passenger will be given a personalizad receipt, and further legal action could be taken as a resulto f the fraudulent use.
